christmas is over!

and now i can get my life back, no more urgent shopping trips, no worrying about leaving anyone out (i'm sure i did), no more ridiculously crowded grocery stores.
we had the usual christmas,
gus and i dropped a off at her moms and went over to aunt s and uncle r's house and hung out and chatted for a while and were sung to by the kids
really christmas carols sung to us by the children, it really did give me back my xmas spirit, it was really cute.
then we went to a best western so gus could work his 3 hour shift and i could sleep (or watch cable)
the next day we went to my pee paws house and had dinner watched kids and dogs run around and pop fire crackers.
peepaw talked to me again about working on his controversial song again.(shaking my head)
after all that we went back to mommy and Eloy's house for presents
and i got stuff to can things with!!!
yeah!!!
i'm seriously so excited

also there is this lymon lemon or lime hybrid tree at peepaw's . he told me to pick all that was on the tree and take them home.
i'm not sure what they are it's citrus and looks like lemon but smells like tangerine
anyway i think i may make marmalade or jelly with it!!!
let the canning adventures begin

gus got a bb gun he may shoot his eye out

it's winter this week

and it will be a busy week
a dress to finish for the niece some knitting to do some shopping to do
some entertaining as well
the house will have an extra person for a while , A will be visiting on a school break , things will be good.
i'm thinking of a possible tamale making party
i have a few people interested

went to yoga today after not going for over a month
it was awesome i'm all loosey goosey and ready for the day

all i do these days is knit
getting Christmas out of the way so i can do some nonobligatory projects
i forget that i should start all this before November even i should start Christmas projects in July.
well next year perhaps
i did finish Antonio's overalls and the are super cute
and i did take a break to make myself a skirt because i hadn't made anything for myself in a while.

what i should be doing 2

i should be cleaning , this place is a mess and gus's parents will be here tomorrow, but i'm a bit lazy today.maybe breakfast will get me going.
i've been knitting up a storm lately i bought the mason dixon knitting book i've heard so much about and i love it i've made three dishtowels out of it and a swiffer cover and i'm currently working on a second dish rag from a stitch pattern i learned from the book.
i always for get i love knitting until fall comes around, and then i always have my needles and yarn by my side, even in the car on the way to the grocery store.
i will post pictures of these things once i have the time to do so.

oh and gus is wonderful, we have been watching the HBO series extras ( on netflix of course)and it's theme song is tea for the tillerman by cat stevens and i was talking of how we needed more cat stevens, because i love him and when i got up this morning it was on our computer along with the rest of tea for the tillerman. i've loved cat stevens since i was about 16 and found that record at a yard sale. the yard sales in spring texas in the 90's really shaped my music taste, i listened to lots of late 60's and early 70's folk.

oh but what i was going to say was extras is worth watching, hilarious and will still make your heart hurt a little, as ricky gervais can do so well.

what i should be doing

i should be making some breakfast or getting dressed for work, or even washing some dishes because i made a huge kitchen mess last night. unfortunately, i don't feel like doing any of those things, it's finally feeling like fall and i want to just go back to bed.

so this is the blanket i made for little baby b.
nothing fancy but i though it turned out well.
i decided my aunts need oven mitts for christmas so i started with those. quilting on my sewing machine is a challenge and hopefully they will start looking a little nicer. currently they look like a home ec project, which i guess in a way they are.i'll put some of my better ones up when i have a chance.
fall is coming on so i'm more interested in knitting, the weather change always brings on my bought of knitting ,every year it's the same.
also, my goal is to make most of the gifts i give this christmas. hopefully i won't get as burned out on it as i did last year and just give up.

engagement

after many years of talking marriage and knowing that i love gus more and more everyday we finally took a step and bought a ring and i think it's perfect

i was so excited about getting the tote bag to jessie i for got to take a picture of it, hopefully one day she will bring it to work with her

i'm actually going to keep up with this, and make entries and when i get around to it new photos.
i've been knitting away on candice's baby's blanket, i also made a tote bag for jessie at work. it has monkeys i will post pictures soon.it's not as exciting as i would like it but the work is some of the best sewing i've done.

the beginning

so a blog, i've done this before you know, with a little site called live journal, but it's been a while and i wanted a fresh start, i also thought this would be a good start on a place to keep track of all the crafty items i've made and will be making. i'm pretty sure no one will be reading this but we will see.

currently i'm working on a baby blanket for my cousins new little boy who will be arriving in december, and some shorts for my nephew who for some reason is out of clothes in his size.
